Training our StaffAll Auntie’s staff take immense pride in their jobs and these dedicated professionals are proud of the part they play in enriching the quality of life and enjoyment that our daycare dogs get in our centre.
All staff are employed and the business observes a high staff to dogs ratio designed to ensure the well-being and enjoyment of all those in the doggy daycare. Volunteers, interns and college students seeking work experience, are sometimes utilised but they are never included in staff to dog ratios.
All Auntie’s staff, including those who come to us with backgrounds in other Animal Welfare, qualifications such City and Guilds, college and university courses, still are required to undertake our bespoke and unique in-house Aunties training programme specifically focused on how to work safely and understand the animals in a daycare environment..
This bespoke training programme has been developed based on years of operating, and uses the best theoretical knowledge out there combined with practical on the job training to ensure that staff are staff and competent to meet the needs of the dogs in their care. All prospective Auntie’s staff members must complete and pass the course prior to becoming a member of staff.
So successful has this training been in enhancing our staff’s understanding of the animals they work with and the contribution it has made to continually enhancing the service, that Auntie’s is now offering this course to other existing or prospective daycare owners. Details of the course can be found at www.doggiedaycaretraining.co.uk.
All doggie daycare staff are fully trained in Canine First Aid.
